Venezia

On tuesday the 24th ,I went to Venezia with my host sister. The main reason I wanted to come was because I had an appointment with the "Universita Ca'Foscari" international welcome desk, which is a service for international students that want to come study in Italy. I had a brief meeting with the coordinator of the welcome desk service, where she explained all the things I need to do and documents I need to bring if I have interest in coming here to study. But before that me and my host sister stopped by the Piazza San Marco and Ponte Vecchio, which are the main touristic spots in Venezia. Those places are so beautiful, I love it!! Visiting Venezia is always nice and I can't believe that in about a week I'm not gonna be nearly as close to it as I'm now.

I'm almost going home, and I can't lie is a crazy feeling... There is a part of me i wish I could stay, but also that is a part of me that is happy to come back home to  my "normal life". I really can't say how I'm actually feeling right now, is very  bitter sweet.

Verona, Valle D'Aosta and Volunteering at Venezia

Is has been 4 months since I got here, and I can  say: best decision I ever made! It just made me realize, that even thought I've finish high school, going straight in to university
was not the right choice for me. In the past months I've had the time to mature and learn so much about a culture, a language and about myself. Living this "new life" gave me time to stop, think and  kinda organize what I attempt to do in the future. So again: BEST DECISION EVER!
Two weeks ago was my " host cousin" crisma. This part of the family lives in Valle D'Aosta, which is a 4 hours car ride from where we live. But before getting there we stopped by Verona for a few hours.
Verona is one of the cutest and most lovely places I've been. First of all we went to the Arena di Verona. Is Roman Empire time arena, it follows the same idea of the coliseum. Is very nice, and they still do performances there. Afte we walked through the Main Street till we arrive to Juliet's house. It was childhood dream to see the lockers on the gate, is really pretty. Then we went to a Piazza delle Erbe from there we waked back to the arena and left, because unfortunately we did not have a lot of time because we still had a long trip ahead of us. After a few hours we got to Valle D'Aosta, it was already dark and we went straight to the house of my host mom's sister.
The next day my host mom took us to Courmayer, which is very small town that in the winter fills up with people that go skiing and snowboarding. Is very cool and has a great view of the mountains. Next we went to D'Aosta. The city is full of history, and very pretty. Overall was a very nice day!
On the next morning was the crisma ceremony, after I had lunch with all the family. They were all very fun and likable,  I had a great time with them.
Last Wednesday I went with my host sister's school to Venezia to work as a volunteers in the Special Olympics. This kind of Olympics is made for the mentally disable, is very inspirational to see this people happy and putting so much effort in to the sports. I'm happy that I went with my host sister, in the end I had so much fun!

Loving Italy

Last Saturday I did my first dance performance since I got here. It felt very good, the dance team I joined is great and the girl are very sweet! Also my dance teacher took me with her to the studio that she takes classes, is in Conegliano in a studio called dance city. The class was great, is completely different from all I ever done, but is always good to do something new!
At school things are going so good! I already feel very comfortable with my classmates they are really fun people! My Italian is getting better and better, sometimes I even think and dream in Italian! My family is more than great! I could not be happier, my host sister and I have a lot I fun together! I get along well with all of them.
Homesickness has not hit me yet, I think is just because everything is so new and interesting that it keeps my mind busy. Also the weather is so much better, is like sunny everyday, my hair is really thankful that the humidity is gone! Over all, so far it has been a great experience, but is going too fast!!!!

Dance Solo!

Yesterday me and my dance teacher started to work in a solo, and we were able to finish it at the same day, which is good because the performance in next week. I love it, is really beautiful.  I'm completely destroyed, bruises all over! But was defenitly worth it. I'm looking forward to perform it!

Almost a month!

It's been almost a month since I got here. In a way it seems like more, just because I grew so close to my host family, but also seems like was yesterday I left Brazil! This is going way too fast, I just want to take all the days that passed and relive them all over again! I'm already sad for leaving!
Well about the language, I'm not gonna lie, it can get a little frustrating sometimes, because I just wanna have a long and nice conversation with people, with out having to worry if I'm going to be able to answer the next question... but is becoming more often the times that I accomplish to have a nice conversation with people. Is so rewarding,  makes me feel really good! I know I still have A LOT to learn, but I can tell my Italian is getting there!
I'm slowly starting to participate more at school. I'm begging to read a few things in Italian out loud for the class and also starting to do group work. When my classmates take tests I usually bring my novel in Italian and dictionary. This way I study the novel and translate all the words I don't know, which I think is really helping me.
Dance is going great! I love my teacher, she has that tought love style that I think is gonna help me improve. Here at this reagion, modern dance is a really big thing. Is not normally what I do, but I'm always up to learn something new.

It feels good being here!

It has been raining for at least a week here, but today it was really sunny and beautiful! I just realized how blessed I'm to have the opportunity to come here. I'm loving every second of it: the people are really welcoming, the city is beautiful, my host family is amazing... I mean, I could not have been luckier! Today I'm just really happy to be here and be doing this.
I can tell that my italian is getting better everyday, definitely not fluent yet, but surely improving! Today when me and my host sister went to the center to walk around, I bought my first italian book and also a portuguese-italian dictionary. Hopefully it will help me improve and gain a great knowledge of a few different words.

New dance school

At school everything still going great. My classmates are starting to ask me how to say all this thing in Portuguese, it's really funny! I have this amazing sociology class, the teacher is great, It is so really interesting.
Two days ago, I went to check out a different dance studio: Dance Out. I talked to the owner and also showed her a video of one of my dances, she love it! She  already told me about this few showcases that the studio will participate, and that she would like to take me to participate. Yesterday I had my first class there, it exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to my nexts classes there!
